new project: vegie patch
We’re putting the Treehouse Project on the backburner, ‘til Ollie gets back from his cross-country travels. It will remain a lofty dream, a castle in the clouds..
And meanwhile, we’re getting our hands dirty with some gardening. The plan is to grow a minimal-effort / maximal-delicious vegie selection to feed the hungry masses in the coming months. GFC is actually short for ‘Good food comes from your own backyard’.
A friend of ours generously lent his gardening wisdom today, and toiled in the soil with Spud to clear the weeds (see the ‘before’ and ‘after’ shots). We’re making way for beans, snowpeas, cherry tomatoes, zucchini, herbs - just enough for garden-grown vego stir-fry!
Come join us tomorrow morning for a Gardening Bee! It’s gonna be wild.

P.S. Apparently this weeding business would be much easier with this sinister-looking tool. If you have a mattock and live nearby, please drop by! You will be rewarded with a cup of sugar (at the very least) for your neighbourly goodwill.
