The Workshop

The house has been a hive of activity as always! As a result, we’ve developed a backlog of blogging material, like dishes in the sink…

Well, that’s the simile you were expecting, but -it has to be seen to be believed, folks- the Workshop finally has a cleaning system that WORKS! Anarchy didn’t quite leave a spotless benchtop; perhaps because we are fundamentally flawed beings… so we contracted to impose some rules and structures on ourselves. Stay tuned for details (and more obtuse political analogies).

In other news:

We hosted a ‘movie night’ for students involved in the Law School’s Social Justice Program, with a screening of the educational videos which Legal Aid show prisoners to inform them of their legal rights;

We went on holiday! Some of us went to Pittwater, some of us waded through water up to our ‘pits on the Colo River walk (pictures to follow);

We had climate camp activists around for dinner, to celebrate their successes and experiment with various permutations and combinations of vego dishes featuring the humble carrot;

We covered the floor with mattresses for twenty young folk who spent their weekend strategising for the UN climate conference in Copenhagen;

We went through the gruelling process of choosing a new housemate to take Po’s room, since he is -alas!- leaving us for Europe in November…
